2021 Wedding Dress Trends

2021 WEDDING DRESS TRENDS

Is anyone getting married this year? I am one of those people who just love weddings. Last month I celebrated what would have been my 20th wedding anniversary. The hopeful romantic that I am that loves to fantasize and so I went down, the rabbit whole of thinking, "What would I wear if I were renewing my vows or getting married for a first time during a pandemic. First stop, the dress.

My wedding dress 20 years ago was a vintage 70's dress that my mom bought at a thrift store for about $25, and for only $100 I had it altered to the style I wanted. It was so beautiful.

2021 WEDDING DRESS TRENDS

My then hubby and I had already decided we wanted a glam wedding but on a beer budget and I think we did a pretty great job. Prior to getting married we had decided we wanted to spend our moonla on investing in property and buying our first home. We did a pretty great job there too, investing in our first home within months of being married, saving up a pretty sweet emergency fund, buying more investment properties and within less than 5 years we settled into our first home together.

Even though I knew and loved our planned to not spend too much money on our wedding, I still took to the magazine section of the store to buy some bridal magazines to dream of dresses that cost what our entire wedding cost. A girl can always dream.

The dresses were gorgeous, but then again, I still think my $100 altered dress was gorgeous as well, and hey, it was cut perfectly for me during the alterations.

Last month as I enjoyed my wedding dreams fantasies, I thought there wasn't too much that I would do differently. I probably wouldn't have a big wedding, but would probably go to one of my favorite travel spots, just me and my honey, and maybe have a super fun reception party once we returned.

When it comes to the dress, I'd probably go with something I could wear for multiple occasions and still keep it at $100 or less for sure. Soooooo, I started to look at wedding dresses, wedding dress trends and I thought about one of my favorite online places to shop and thought, "I wonder if they sale wedding dresses." Oh my gosh you guys, they do and THEY ARE GORGEOUS.

GETTING MARRIED DURING A PANDEMIC

Along with fantasizing I also thought about the present day and had to consider a trip may not be possible for a wedding in 2020. While considering that, I thought about local venues and dresses to match one of the possible wedding sights. I found this darling dress for under $20 that would be perfect for a back yard wedding, in house zoom wedding or wedding at the court house. Along with loving how pretty it is and the cost, I also love that I can wear it again and again. It'll be perfect for many of things I love to do like going to an art exhibit, a tea party, an all white party and more.

WEDDING DRESSES

Although I looked at the trends back then in 2000 when I got married and looked at them last month in 2020, the trend for me now and 20 years ago was to buy something I loved and that was within budget. I love all of the 2021 wedding dress trends from the backless dresses, dresses with exaggerated ruffles. I LOVE the high, low dresses. And anything with puff sleeves is just so romantic to me. I'm all for a short dress and slip dresses have always been my jam.

Check out the gorgeous dresses from ASOS above. And hey, if you're getting married this year or not, so many of the ASOS, wedding style dresses can be worn for so many great events.
